I cambiamenti storico-culturali ed economici che hanno investito la nostra società stanno producendo mutamenti anche rispetto alle manifestazioni tipiche della fase adolescenziale. L’avvento delle nuove tecnologie informatiche ha introdotto modificazioni anche nella gestione dei bisogni propri della fase, nei rapporti con i pari, col mondo degli adulti, così come nella gestione della quotidianità. Il mondo della virtualità, particolarmente frequentato dalle nuove generazioni, ha aperto la strada a fenomeni su cui l’intera comunità scientifica si sta interrogando. Partendo da una panoramica delle caratteristiche del periodo adolescenziale, il contributo esamina il ruolo svolto dalle tecnologie informatiche nelle vicissitudini dei ragazzi, con particolare attenzione alla dimensione temporale, intesa sia in termini evolutivi che di gestione del tempo personale.

Cultural-historical and economical change, that have affected our society, are producing transformations even in reference to the typical behaviours of adolescence phase. The coming of new information and computer technologies has introduced modifications in the management of needs that are specific of this age in its relation with peers and adult world, but also in the management of everyday life. The virtual world, that is visited so frequently by teenagers, has opened the way to phenomena about which the entire scientific community is questioning itself. After having looked at a panoramic view of the main peculiarities of the adolescence phase, this contribution examines how the new computer technologies have affected the ups and downs of young people, with a particular attention to time’s dimension, to be understood inevolution terms as well as management of personal time.
