La ricerca che impegna Agamben, relativa ai meccanismi fondativi del potere nella modernità, ha incrociato tematiche sempre più teologiche, occupandosi dell’economia divina, sia delle forme di vita che traspaiono dalle regole monastiche, sia dai concetti di «sacramento» applicati al linguaggio e, in particolare, al giuramento. Ma con l’Opus Dei il suo interesse si dirige verso la pratica liturgica. Ed è interessante poterne indagare le direzioni dall’interno della riflessione liturgica, perché ciò può mostrare la percezione che la filosofia possiede della liturgia stessa. I punti in cui l’analisi di Agamben è meno condivisibile sono quelli più interessanti per la riflessione liturgica, perché possono diventare fonte di indagine su presupposti non detti e non esplicitati, che appartengono parimenti alla filosofia e alla teologia.

The research on which Agamben is engaged about the mechanisms that found the power in the modern age, has crossed more and more theological issues, so he has dealt with the divine economy and with the life’s forms that appear from monastic rules as well from the concepts of «sacrament», when they are applied to the language and particularly to the oath. But with the Opus Dei his interest is now directed to the liturgical practice. And it is interesting to investigate the directions of this research within the liturgical reflection, because it can show how philosophy perceives the liturgy itself. The points that are less shareable in Agamben analysis are the most interesting for the liturgical reflection, because they can become a source of an investigation about non-spoken or non-explicit assumptions that belong to philosophy as well to theology.
