ABSTRACT – The Way of Duns Scotus between Philosophy and Theology. In connection
to a recent book. The book Doctorem subtilem celebrate the seven hundred years from the
death of Franciscan John Duns Scotus and highlight the most important aspect of Via Scoti
in reference to the present-day cultural and philosophical contest. In particular, the book
examines the relation between faith and reason in three different moment: in first moment,
in its speculative aspect, referring to the primacy of will on the intellect; in second
moment, in its dogmatic aspect, in relation to the debate on Marian dogma; and at the
end, the book analyze, making it worthy of note, the influence that the work of the Franciscan
has had on the Protestant and Catholic Thought.
